Wonderful series!
borovoq
This series is a great read, although it is a shame that we won't be able to find most of the book releases each chapter deals with barring the more obvious ones like Dr. Slump. There's a few misleading things with the translation but otherwise I will definitely be obtaining this when it is released - and it's nice to know that it will actually be released in book form. I hope more chapters and books are planned for release!
Sweet Chapter 5

Aww.. I really like Chapter 5, the memories and definitely tie in with older people going back to their childhood hobbies, definitely reminded me of an article I read a while ago of how comics is a hobby that is enjoyed by adults.
I would hope that this book gets published in print soon. ^_^
Impressions of chapter 2
Erica M.
As an aspiring writer and artist, chap. 2 of Kingyo Used Books left a very profound impression on me. Its message is something I believe I may carry with me for years to come.
Even without reading the proceeding chapters, I feel I can say with wholehearted confidence: I'll be buying KUB as soon as it hits stores.
To all the folks at Viz who're taking care to bring KUB to English-speaking readers: Truly, you have my thanks.
Wow.. incredible series!

So far.. this is definitely my favorite title! It gives a great history of Japanese manga, and definitely leads to a push in learning the language in order to read more needed.. ^_ ^
Wow

Thanks so much for this wonderful series, i cant wait for the print version (alredy preorder vol 1).
So Simple
Judi
Not a review, but chapter 4 made me cry. This is a wonderful manga.
Simple Yet Intriguing
S. Bradford
Although the concept is very simple, the characters are what really make this work shine. Each chapter shows an entirely unique character and how manga and a bookstore has come to affect their life. The diverse cast is extremely relate-able and I have personally felt like each one at some point in my life. After 3 chapters, this has been so much enjoyment and I will definitely be coming back to read more as well as buying it. Let this manga come into your life as it has the people in this story.
Intriguing peek

I'm enjoying this mellow little manga. I like the glimpse it gives me into the wider manga world. Though to be perfectly honest, so far I'm less interested in buying the paper version of Kingyo than I am in buying paper versions of the manga described therein. Say, is there any chance of Viz picking up Sarusuberi, the Hokusai manga mentioned in chapter 2? Because it sounds AWESOME.
Love it
Jammer
Shows how art and manga can effect people in many different ways. It resonates with me as a writer as well as a consumer who loves to go back and check out things I read as a child. One of my favorite titles from SigIkki thus far.
Interesting and Nostalgic
Geekerella
As someone who has been reading manga for literally half her life, this series appeals to me on both an intellectual and emotional level. I love how it shows that manga isn't just for kids, or something that has to be forgotten about as we get older, it is something that we can enjoy in new ways at every stage of our lives.
I look forward to reading more of Kingyo, and hopefully buying the tankoubon one of these days.
Shivers my Soul
Judi
After reading the second chapter, I am in love with this title. I've had a long time love affair with the written word and more recently manga. This manga is everything I could want. It speaks to my soul.
getting more interesting
Alyssa
I liked this second chapter better that the first one which I found to schmaltzy for my taste. The last line of the chapter made me laugh.
Allright
Michael
It was okay it's more like a slice of life manga. This manga is for people that are in to manga a lot it's great I would buy it.
okay
Iwazaru
This series is okay. It moves kinda slow and the story has a relaxed feel.
The main characters just talk about manga that they used to read when they were younger. I need to read more chapters to really know if I like this manga or not.
Cute!
Julie
This looks like a really, really sweet and charming series. Slice-of-life isn't always my thing, but this looks like a winner: the art is lovely and the characters are endearing already (I love Tazawa's permanently-stunned expression). The fact that it comes with little essays about Great Manga of Yesteryear just knocks it out of the park.
Very sweet
Shelly
This isn't what I expected, but it looks like it will shape up to be a heartwarming story about the power of manga and books in our lives. What reader wouldn't like that?
Ah, to turn back Time
Heather
This first chapter was so wonderful. I am not sure if the series follows different people finding the book store or if this same group of people will build and grow from visiting here. I hope you continue the small commentary given at the end of the chapter, even if I am already familar with Dr.Slump. I hope as the American manga market is growing more people will be able to look back with fond memories of the beginning and the early titles offered.
Nostalgia Express
A. Christman
I absolutely adore this series. The art is nice and the writing is nice, but what I really love is the feeling it gives me. While reading the first chapter, there was nothing I wanted to do more than jump into the comic and discuss some of those series with the characters. The entire experience of the first chapter really warmed my heart and I can't wait to read more!
